Overview

Personal growth coaching app designed
to help you achieve your goals, boost
self-confidence, and manage your
energy.

The app is used during or after the
coaching process to help advance
personal goals and implement changes
in daily life.

Key Features

To cultivate a deep emotional
connection to the goal and
increase internal motivation, you
can choose a picture with personal
meaning and define the reason
behind the goal.

Using a user's first name positively
and invitingly creates a personal
connection and increases
engagement.

A weekly notification is sent to
prompt users to plan small, daily
steps towards their goals,
ensuring consistent progress.

To prevent burnout and boost
productivity, the app prompts
users to plan three weekly 'energy
boosts': short, rejuvenating breaks
to take throughout the workday

UX Challenges

Flow is too long

To improve user experience:

1. The lengthy goal-setting
process was divided into
three shorter and more
manageable steps.

2. Initial reminders were
eliminated under the
assumption that users
would be eager to set their
goals and would not require
extensive instructions.

3. The goal summary at the end of
the process was removed as the
same information is readily
accessible on the home screen,
preventing unnecessary
repetition.

Clumsy and confusing wording

Based on the recommendation of a
life coach, I considered guiding
users to formulate their goals in the
past tense to create a positive
psychological effect. After initial
experiments, I decided that this
approach could create confusion
and hinder the simplicity of using
the app. Therefore, we chose a
more direct and clear approach,
where users formulate their goals
in the future tense.

Research

During the study, I interviewed two
coaches, four coaching clients and
three self-management app users
to investigate whether physical
tools, such as apps, could
supplement or replace traditional
coaching methods.

The interviews focused on
coaching effectiveness, identified
improvement areas, and explored
the users' experiences with self-
management apps.

Personal summary

I am a strong believer in coaching
and have personally experienced its transformation power. My own
coaching journey led to significant
personal growth and change.
However, I realized the need for a
tool to sustain these changes and
integrate new habits into daily life.

Positive feedback from both
coaches and clients reinforced this
need, highlighting the desire for an
app that would provide ongoing
support and maximize the benefits
of the coaching process, enabling
individuals to live more fulfilling
lives.
